How to Take an Accurate Compass Reading
OPTION A
Please follow these steps carefully to help us identify the directions of your apartment for an accurate Vastu assessment.
Step 1: Calibrate Your Mobile Compass
Open the Compass app on your smartphone.
If prompted, calibrate it by following the on-screen instructions.
Move your phone gently in a figure-eight motion a few times, or as instructed by your device.
Keep your phone away from magnetic objects, metal surfaces, speakers, and electronic equipment that may affect the reading.
Step 2: Stand at the Main Entrance
Step outside your apartment and stand directly in front of the main entrance.
Face inward, towards the inside of your apartment.
Hold your phone flat and steady in front of you, keeping it aligned with the direction you are facing.
Step 3: Capture the Compass Reading
Allow the compass reading to stabilise.
Take a screenshot showing the direction in degrees (°) and the corresponding compass direction, if displayed.
Make sure the reading and direction are clearly visible in the screenshot.
Step 4: Verify the Reading
Repeat the procedure two to three times, allowing the compass to stabilise each time.
If the readings differ significantly, recalibrate your phone and try again in a location away from magnetic interference.
Step 5: Share the Screenshot
Send the compass screenshots to us via WhatsApp or email along with your apartment floor plan.
Important: When you stand outside facing inward, the compass shows the direction you are facing—not necessarily the direction the entrance faces. Please share the screenshot without manually changing or interpreting the reading; we will review it as part of your Vastu assessment.
OPTION B: Sharing Your Location via WhatsApp
Stand at the approximate centre of your apartment.
Open WhatsApp and share your current location with us.
We will use the geographical coordinates received to help determine the directions for your Vastu assessment.
